David Apling, 65, and his sons own Devil's Lake Water Sports, 14581 U.S. 223, in Manitou Beach. They decided to put one of their boats to the test by sailing the vessel from the southern edge of Lake Michigan, up to the Straits of Mackinac, and down Lake Huron ending on Lake Erie in Toledo, Ohio. The park is long and narrow with RVs' on both sides and all gravel with a little grass behind the RV where a tent can be set up for an extra fee, sites are very small, if your neighbor has a slide your canopy will almost touch the slide. The picnic table is too close to the neighbors sewer hose. One nice thing about the park is the trail to the beach. The management were very nice and helpful, this park is fine for a couple of nights.

You've heard the expression "The grass is greener on the other side." But residents in one Surfside Beach development will lose the privilege to say that if their backyards go from green grass to high homes.
